Before A Consultation
Before your consultation with Katie, it is beneficial to conduct some research to ensure a productive and informed discussion. Here are some key aspects to consider:
Take the time to explore Katie’s design aesthetic, craftsmanship, and the types of custom pieces she has created in the past. Familiarize yourself with her style and expertise by reviewing her portfolio. This will give you an understanding of her work and what to expect.
Browse through various sources, such as fashion magazines, online platforms, or social media, to gather inspiration for your custom piece. Save images or create a mood board that reflects your preferences in terms of design elements, materials, gemstones, and overall style. This will help convey your vision during the consultation.
Have a clear understanding of your budget range for the custom jewelry piece. This will allow Katie to provide guidance and make appropriate suggestions regarding materials, gemstone options, and design complexity that align with your budget.
Think about any personalised elements you would like to incorporate into the piece. This could include engraving initials, adding birthstones, or incorporating meaningful symbols or motifs. Researching these options beforehand will help you communicate your desires effectively.
Gain basic knowledge about different metals (such as gold, platinum, or silver) and gemstones (such as diamonds, sapphires, or emeralds) that you might want to include in your custom piece. Understand the characteristics, colors, durability, and any potential symbolism associated with them. This will facilitate discussions during the consultation.
By conducting research and gathering ideas before your consultation with Katie, you will be better equipped to articulate your vision and preferences. This preparation will foster a more collaborative and efficient process, enabling Katie to understand your aspirations and create a truly personalised and remarkable piece of jewellery for you.
